A lot of people say that their souls can relate to various genres of music, and I’ve always found that mine relates to country music.
I’m not sure if it’s the words they sing, or the picture that they paint…but I have always felt a deep connection to it. The song above is called Baby Girl by Sugarland, and it is one that is close to my mom’s heart with me being so far away from her.
“And it’s a long way from here,
To the place where the home fires burn,
Well it’s 2,000 miles and one left turn.
Dear Mom and Dad,
Please send money,
I’m so broke that it ain’t funny.
I don’t need much just enough to get me through.
Please don’t worry ’cause I’m alright.
(I’m playin here at the bar tonight)
This time I’m gonna make our dreams come true…
Well I love you more than anything in the world.
Your Baby Girl”
