Coming from a small family, I normally spend Easter by eating a ham dinner with my family. Since being in Louisiana, I have been invited to friends’ houses for Easter, and this year to my boyfriend’s sister’s house.
We spent the day just like the stereotypical Southern family would: first by going to church for an Easter service, and then to have a BBQ with the whole family.
It really wasn’t any different than any other Sunday in their house, because normally it’s a family gathering every Sunday. That’s one of the things that I love about the South…it seems that everyone is so family oriented, and having a family get-together isn’t out of the ordinary.
