Oak Alley Plantation

About nine months ago when my mom came to visit me, we wanted to explore Louisiana. I searched online and I came across Oak Alley Plantation in Vacherie, and the pictures absolutely took my breath away. We decided to drive there that afternoon to explore this beautiful location.

It cost $20 a person, and it was worth every penny. This plantation was deeper than its beautiful exterior, I could see pain from the suffrage of the slaves. I felt like I had taken a step back in time to the 1800’s.

Since that day, whenever I feel like going for a ride, I will get in my car and drive to Oak Alley. Everything about it brings so much emotion to me, and it’s become a place where I can let my mind run wild.
